School Unions in Montpellier Also Call for Strike Next Week

Separate from the university student unions’ decision to demonstrate next week, the public school unions (including kindergarten, elementary, primary, and secondary schools) have now also called for a strike on Thursday, October 11. There are nearly 20 specific reasons cited for the strike, but the principals claims include an improvement in working conditions and a decrease in the number of students per class.

Improved Center for Cystic Fibrosis at University Hospital of Montpellier

The University Hospital of Montpellier has recently renovated its center for patients with cystic fibrosis. Thanks to a donation from the Grégory Lemarchal Association, the hospital has been able to renovate the facilities and change the air treatment system of the center.

Grégory Lemarchal was a popular singer from the 4th season of the hit French reality TV show Star Academy. He passed away in 2007 due to complications from cystic fibrosis.

Sidewalk Sale in Downtown Montpellier This Weekend

Le Grand Bazar is back! All around historic downtown Montpellier today and tomorrow over 400 shops will participate in the fall sidewalk sale.

There will be activities for all on Saturday and tag sales around the downtown on Sunday, October 7.
