Expo “I am a Man” at the Pavillon Populaire in Montpellier

From today until January 6, 2019 the photography exposition “I am a Man” is free to the public. Though 250 photographs, it explores civil rights in the United States in 1960 from Selma to the KKK to Martin Luther King.

The Pavillon Populaire is located on the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle, off the Place de la Comédie. It is open from Tuesday through Sunday, 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. and again from 2:00pm to 6:00p.m.

Spiders Infest Montpellier Classrooms Near Rugby Stadium

Seven classrooms were closed for one week at the Olympe-de-Gouges school in Montpellier due to an infestation of wolf spiders. After a complete cleaning and disinfection of the rooms, the sanitation service of Montpellier declared that the situation had been resolved. Teachers and their students have returned to their classrooms.

However, wolf spiders have recently been spotted outside of the classrooms. To be continued….

Yet Another Orange Alert for Storms, Heavy Rains and Flooding

Here we go again! Météo France has issued another orange alert for the department of Hérault for storms, heavy rains, and flooding. This alert will be in effect starting on Monday at 5:00am – just in time for rush hour.

Public gardens (such as the botanical garden on the boulevard Henri IV) and the Zoo de Lunaret will be closed all day Monday. Winds may reach 100km/hour, and the alert is in place until Tuesday morning.
